STF postcard no 36 – TIMBER COTTAGE IN YSBY
”Ryggåsstuga in Ysby” ( ryggåsstuga = timber cottage open to the roof) was for me a total unknown old building until I started ”Google around”.
Quite soon I had the feeling that ”Vippen-torpet” (torp = crofter’s holding) maybe had with this thing to do. I thought I saw similarities on pictures I found.
At www.knared.nu I found more information.
I put the coordinates in my gps and at September 29 it became one of Elisabeth’s and my target to visit. I didn’t know for sure that I was correkt but when we saw the timber cottage, there on the hillside, there was no doubt about it.
It was a lovely day in the autumn. The calm of the place was relaxing. We walked around, thinking of the passed generations hard work, tasted the plums by the well and enjoyed our time on earth.
