STF postcard no 32 – THE FARM KNOBESHOLM
Knobesholm, a farm with a very old history. In a brochure pubished by the county administration, and with the name “Hagbard_Signe” you can read: “The farm is like a oasis close to the small river Hovgårdsån. The water is formed like ponds on each side of the road. The farm has got its name fron the Danish man of nobility Knut Knob who lived here in the 1500s. The existing home was built in 1632 and had a second floor in the beginning of the 1900s. On both sides of the home there are solid buildings made of stone from the 1600s, one storehouse and one old barn.”
At this manor there also is a faktory makin barrels, a cooperage. This is today a living museum. Highly depending on, among others, my aunt, Svea and my cousin Lars-Börje.
