The Emigrants
are many in our family. The two most well known is probably Arne and Nanny.
My grandmother on my mother’s side was one of 10 siblings. Seven of her siblings emigrated! Only she and her brother Gottfrid remained in Sweden. Another brother, David, died young. Gottfrid died in 1929 and after that it was only my grandmother still in Sweden.
To the left you find an attempt to illustrate the travelling routes of the emigrants, the cities they saw and the ships they travelled. All illustrated using contemporary postcards. The postcards are purchased on eBay, some of them on Tradera. Unfortunately some the texts are not translated and are in Swedish.
As usual, click on the leaflet and it opens up. Click on the right side and next page will be displayed, click on the left side for the previous page.
