To Ina
Ina, the ray of sunshine in so many lives.
We first met in Halmstad in June 2010. We only had 2 years together. It has taken me a long time to write this. (The 3 months in Medical Department 61 at Halmstad Hospital were very painful.
Thank you Eva, my coworker, thank you Maya and thank you my children for all the support during this difficult time. Words like: “Dad, I don’t wonder if we’ll come, I wonder when. Words that are never forgotten.)
Here I want to remember Ina in pictures and little stories who, with her personality, her indomitable optimism, her smile, gave me and many others great joy.
Not to mention her special expressions, such as, when she reached for her glasses, “Now I need the “tittorna””, or when the phone needed charging, “Now it needs some “strömming”. When we drove past the large fields in Skåne, you hear, “It was really big, “vilka stora flängen dom har här””.
(If you don’t understand, ask me.)
(As always, all pictures are “clickable”.)
We had many great experiences.
Here on the right are some pictures of Ina. Pictures from, among other things, our trips and our weekends together. The trip to Maya and André’s wedding in Cape Town. The trip with Eva and Leif to the Pyrenees. All the little trips in Halland and Skåne. All the swimming on the beach at Gullbranna. Geocaching.
Everything we did together. …

We took a lot of photos together. Some of the photos became little “booklets”.
Ina’s neighbor got a copy of “The Seagull”. It was on their chimney that the drama took place.
Scroll through these booklets by clicking on the right or left arrow. You can also grab a corner and “drag over.” Click on “Full screen” for a larger view.
We kept a “care diary”. Too many pages filled with mistakes and poor care.
If anyone wants to take part, I can send over a copy. It is very heavy and sad reading.
At every setback, Ina said: “Ok, now we’ll take it from here.” We said to each other: “If it feels like we can’t take it anymore, we’ll take one more step, one more step. …”
I, who has worked in care my entire working life, am not proud of the care given to Ina at Med avd 61 in Halmstad.
Kirurgen 71, where she was operated on, was brilliant! We tried several times to have Ina transferred to Kirurgen, but no, it didn’t work. Med 61 opposed it.
I submitted the “Care Diary” to both the patient committee in Halmstad and in Lund. Reaction:.. “Sorry”, … “it’s not supposed to be like that”, … “we have a group, “Survivors in the middle of life”, .. no thanks, I just wanted to get away from Halmstad Hospital!
